숨 아트 포럼 2023

지난해에 이어 숨 프로젝트는 제2회 ‘숨 아트 포럼 2023’을 개최합니다. 동대문디자인플라자 뮤지엄 전시2관에서 열리는 ‘럭스: 시적해상도’ 전시 개막에 맞춰 진행된 이번 행사는 2021년 영국 런던에서 성공적으로 개최된 대규모 미디어 전시 ‘럭스: 현대미술의 새로운 물결’의 두 번째 해외 순회전 개최의 의미를 나누고 전시에 참여한 세계적인 작가들의 목소리를 직접 듣는 자리입니다. 

이날 프로그램에서는 전시를 기획한 이지윤 숨 프로젝트 대표가 진행을 맡았습니다. 미디어아트의 아버지 카스텐 니콜라이(Carsten Nicolai), 메타버스 공간을 최초로 만들어낸 크리스타 킴(Krista Kim), 영국 컬렉티브 팀 마시멜로 레이저 피스트(Marshmallow Laser Feast)의 얼신 한 얼신(Ersin Han Ersin), 이탈리아 출신 컬렉티브 팀(Fuse*) 등 네 작가 팀이 참여해 작품에 대한 이야기를 나누었습니다.

이지윤 대표는 “럭스(LUX)’ 전시를 시작하게 된 계기와 의미에 대해 설명하며, 이번 전시가 빛, 그리고 현대미술에 대해 관객이 질문을 던지는 기회가 되었으면 한다”고 밝혔습니다.

On September 4, 2023, SUUM Project hosted an Artist Talk in connection with the exhibition LUX: Poetic Resolution held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The talk explored the role and position of contemporary media art, providing a platform for discussions around the significance and impact of digital art in today’s world.

LUX: Poetic Resolution (DDP, Sept. 5 – Dec. 31, 2023) marked the second international touring exhibition of LUX, featuring 16 large-scale audiovisual installations by 12 internationally acclaimed artist groups working at the forefront of contemporary art.

The talk featured curator Lee Ji-yoon, who organized the exhibition, as well as prominent participating artists: Carsten Nicolai, often regarded as the father of media art; Mattia Carretti, co-founder of the interdisciplinary studio fuse*; and Ersin Han Ersin, director of the media creative studio Marshmallow Laser Feast. The session delved into the role of media art in contemporary art, the rise of NFTs, and the evolving significance of digital art.
