이 전시는 중국 현대 개념미술 작가인 송동이 지난 2003년부터 약 5년간 베이징, 상하이, 런던 등 8여 곳의 글로벌 도시에서 제작해온 과자로 만든 글로벌 도시 프로젝트이다.

2008년 10월, 그 아홉 번째 도시는 대한민국 서울로, 우리나라에서 구입한 과자와 사탕들로 작품을 선보인다. 숨 프로젝트가 기획한 이 전시는 ‘변화의 주역 여성: 다양하고 지속 가능한 미래 건설’이라는 주제의 담론을 송동의 ‘이팅 더 시티’ 프로젝트로 제시한다.

This exhibition features Chinese conceptual artist Song Dong’s global city project, Eating the City, which he developed over five years beginning in 2003.

Created in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and London, the work was presented in Seoul in October 2008, using snacks and candies purchased in Korea.

Curated by SUUM Project, the exhibition engages with the theme “Women as Agents of Change: Building a Diverse and Sustainable Future”, interpreted through Song Dong’s edible urban landscape.
